Celebration Of Star Wars At University Of Detroit Basketball

DETROIT (AP) — A celebration of Star Wars is planned at the University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's basketball games.

Star Wars Night takes place Wednesday at Calihan Hall. The women's team hosts Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne before the men's team hosts Purdue.

Visitors can mingle with people dressed as Star Wars characters and dress up themselves.

The annual event takes on more meaning ahead of this month's opening of the latest of the films, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Fans at Wednesday's games also can win tickets to see the movie.
