Trace Adkins Believes Donald Trump Is 'Having a Blast' With Presidential Run

DETROIT (WWJ) - County singer and reality TV star Trace Adkins says he hasn't spoken to Donald Trump lately — but he believes the GOP front-runner is having a lot of fun with his presidential run.

"Oh, I think he's having a blast," said Adkins, who appeared in season 7 of "The Apprentice" with Trump. "I think he's enjoying every second of this, you know, knowing him."

"It's funny how people ask me, 'What's Trump doing?'" Adkins added, with a chuckle. "Like I know; like he calls me every day. I have no idea what he's doing, but it certainly is entertaining to watch."

However, Adkins clarified, he does believe Trump would take the presidency seriously if elected.

"I've told people, too, you know...I think that if the world turned upside down and he actually won, he would be very serious about it. I think that the gravity of the situation at some point would hit him, and he would deal with the situation in a much more mature way."

While Adkins, who stopped by the WWJ Newsradio 950 studios while in Detroit on Wednesday, would not comment directly about Trump's controversial proposal to bar all Muslims from entering the U.S., he did say something has to be done about the nation's visa waiver program, adding, "We have to extra vigilant in these times."
