Macomb County Man Busted For Meth Lab In Mobile Home

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - A Macomb County man is behind bars, accused of running a methamphetamine lab and marijuana grow operation out of his mobile home.

Kevin James McKinney, 53, was arrested Tuesday after Macomb County Sheriff's detectives, serving a search warrant, found evidence that meth was being manufactured in the man's home, in the East Village Estates on 26 Mile Rd near M-53 in Washington Township.

Deputies also allegedly found pot plants growing in a bedroom.

McKinney was arraigned via video in the 42-1 District Court of Romeo on charges of operating/maintaining a methamphetamine laboratory, possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy and delivery/manufacture marijuana.

McKinney was given a $20,000 cash-or-surety bond, and he is due back in court next Tuesday morning.

He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on the meth lab charge.
