Woman Found Dead In Water At Monroe County Marina

BERLIN TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - An investigation is underway into the death of a 41-year-old woman whose body was found in the water at a Monroe County marina.

Responding to a 911 call at around 10 a.m. Thursday, Monroe County deputies arrived at Berlin Township's Lake Pointe Marina to find the victim dead in about three feet of water.

According to sheriff's officials, the woman's body was found near a docked boat where she'd lived.

A cause of death hasn't been released as authorities await results of an autopsy by the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office. The woman's name has not been released pending notification of her family.
