Charles Woodson Announces He Will Retire At The End Of NFL Season [VIDEO]

OAKLAND, Calif. (CBS Detroit) -- Long-time NFL defensive back and former University of Michigan Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson announced that he will retire at the end of the 2015 season.

The 18-year pro spent time with the Green Bay Packers and had two stints with the Oakland Raiders. The eight-time Pro Bowler won a Super Bowl with the Packers in 2011, was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 and is the only player in NFL history to have at least 50 interceptions and 20 sacks.

Woodson won the Heisman Trophy in 1997, the year that the Wolverines were crowned National Champions.

"Was it a tough decision? Kind of, but in a way a couple of weeks ago it hit me that this would be it," Woodson said at a press conference Monday.
