The Biggest Stories of 2015: 'Michigan Matters' Dives Into Hot Issues

(CBS Detroit) The city of Detroit after bankruptcy.

Flint's lead-tainted water woes.

The state of Michigan's roads.

Which was the biggest story of 2015? And which will have an impact in the coming year?

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, business woman Denise Ilitch, and Charlie Beckham, group executive in charge of neighborhoods for the city of Detroit, joined "Michigan Matters" senior producer/host Carol Cain to talk about it. You can catch the show this Sunday at 11:30 am on CBS62.

The panel discussed the political prospects of term-limited Gov. Rick Snyder and what comes next for Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan.

The Motor City has been on a roll a year after it emerged from bankruptcy as Duggan just won additional funding to help with its blight removal program. Gov. Rick Snyder, who appeared on "Michigan Matters" two weeks ago, said the next hurdle will be the take the renovation of the city's midtown and downtown areas in to the neighborhoods.

The panel talked about that as well.

And the roundtable discussed the terrorist attacks in San Bernadino, Calif., which claimed the lives of 14 people in Paris. The terrorists were aligned with ISIS.

Patterson talked about his concern of allowing more Syrian refugees into Michigan and the nation under current government vetting procedures.

(You can hear the conversation by watching "Michigan Matters" on CBS62 at 11:30 a.m. Sunday on CBS 62).
