Calvin Johnson: World Class WR And Toilet Inventor

Calvin Johnson is quite possibly the best WR not named Jerry Rice to ever play in the NFL, in my opinion.
If you've been without Internet or TV for the last 24 hours -- trapped underneath something heavy, stuck with your heat in a jar -- then it is probably news to you that 97.1 The Ticket's very own Terry Foster broke the story that Johnson is seriously considering retiring.
You already know that Calvin is a Nike athlete, you probably know that he has caught 83 career TDS, you probably even know that he holds the NFL record for most yards in a single season (1,964).
Something you might not know is that Calvin Johnson once invented a toilet.
According to savannahnow.com back in 2006 while Johnson was attending Georgia Tech, he and a classmate, Brad Davis, helped create a toilet.
The duo built a cost-efficient latrine that utilizes the sun's energy to treat bacteria-laden human waste, used as fertilizer in many of the world's poorest areas.
The toilet used your basic run of the mill items such as bleach bottles, wood and tin foil.

Like having his name join those of Sir John Harrington and Thomas Crapper as synonyms of that most practical of inventions.
The John T. Crapper could become and Calvin J. Crapper.

If Calvin does walk away from the game of football, then he might just have a future in the toilet industry.
