Sheldon White will have his chance on Friday.

The Lions' interim general manager and former vice president of pro personnel, will interview for Detroit's permanent GM position Friday, according to the NFL Network.

Team president Rod Wood had previously said that White would have a shot to be permanently promoted. So far, White is the only person from within the Lions' organization considered to be a candidate. Previous reports have indicated that the Lions will also interview the Patriots' Bob Quinn, the Seahawks' Trent Kirchner and the Giants' Kevin Abrams.

White is in his 19th season with Detroit, and has come up through the scouting and personnel ranks. Team owner Martha Firestone Ford named him interim GM in November after the firings of GM Martin Mayhew and president Tom Lewand. At the time, White said Ford had given him all of Mayhew's responsibilities, with no limitations.
