Woman Ejected, Killed In Crash On Residential Street; Fleeing Man Arrested
ECORSE (WWJ) - A young woman is dead, two people are hospitalized and a man is under arrest after crashing on a residential street near the border of Ecorse and Lincoln Park.
Police say the accident happened early Friday morning on 17th Street near Outer Drive, between Jefferson Avenue and Fort Street. Two vehicles collided, although other circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear.
Police say two women were in one of the vehicles. One of the women was ejected and declared dead at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Two men were in the other vehicle, according to police. One of the men was injured and transported to a hospital for treatment. The other man was taken into police custody after he tried to run away from the scene.
Names of those involved have not been released. Police say the deceased woman is in her early 20s.
An investigation is ongoing.
