No Powerball Winner, Jackpot Could Top $1.3 Billion

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - No winning ticket was sold for Saturday's Powerball multi-state lottery and with an estimated $1.3 billion up for grabs on Wednesday-- people from other countries are getting interested.

"We have had calls from at least two dozen countries - this is on the tongues and lips of everyone around the world," said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas lottery.

Saturday night Powerball announced the six winning numbers for a record jackpot of nearly $950 million setting off a scramble among hopeful lottery players across the country to check if they held a lucky ticket.

But no such luck.

The winning numbers — disclosed live on television and online — were 32-16-19-57-34 and the Powerball number 13.

All six numbers must be correct to win, although the first five can be in any order says a lottery official.

The next Powerball lotto draw will be Wednesday night -- you can hear the numbers on WWJ Newsradio 950 Wednesday night.
