Couple Identified In Possible Murder-Suicide In Monroe County

RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) — A couple found dead in their Monroe County home in what police are investigating as a possible slaying and suicide have been identified as 56-year-old Gerard Lozon and 57-year-old Holly Lozon.

The Blade in Toledo, Ohio, reports Friday that the Wayne County medical examiner's office had not yet released official causes of death.

Sheriff Dale Malone said the bodies were found just before 3 p.m. Wednesday by fire crews responding to a blaze at a home in the 3500 block of Heiss Road in Raisinville Township, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.

The Blade reports that authorities on Friday released a 911 call made by an in-home care worker. The worker told dispatchers that the house was full of smoke when she arrived.

Police have said a small fire that had ignited inside the living room most likely didn't contribute to the deaths.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 734-240-7530.
