Last Friday the Detroit Lions announced they had hired Bob Quinn as their next GM.

This Friday the DetroitLions.com writer Tim Twentyman have announced on Twitter they will keep Jim Caldwell as their head coach.

Detroit started out the season 1-7 and finished strong finishing the season 7-9.

Lions players talked after the season how they wanted Jim Caldwell back for the 2016 season and it appears Bob Quinn has listened to what they have to say.

"I played 11 years in this league. I've been around enough coaches to know a great one when I finally get a chance to work with one," Moore said.

"If you've got a guy that has shown that he can be successful, and the guys like him, what more do you need?" he said. "What more can you ask for? I think if they do choose to go in a different direction, then what kind of statement or what kind of message are we sending to the guys that are suiting up for you every single Sunday? You're starting back from zero. You're starting from the ground again, and I don't think that's the right move to make."

The Lions sent out the following statement:

"As I stated Monday, I was looking forward to the opportunity to get to know Jim," said Quinn. "After spending a significant amount of time together, it is clear that our football philosophies are very similar."

"Consequently, I am convinced he is the right man to lead our football team moving forward." Quinn continued. "Jim's entire body of work is impressive."

"Not only did he lead the Lions to the playoffs his first season here, but when you look at how the players responded the second half of last season, under difficult circumstances, it's clear to me that this team believes in him and responds positively to his leadership.

"Our entire focus now is on the off-season and all that it entails."

Are you happy the Lions are bringing back Jim Caldwell?
