Teen Held At Gunpoint During Home Invasion At Monroe County Mobile Home Park

BEDFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Police in Monroe County are hoping the public can help them catch two men who held a teenage girl at gunpoint after breaking into her home.

The incident happened just after 3 p.m. Friday the Northtowne Meadows Mobile Home Community along Telegraph Road just north of the Michigan-Ohio state line in Bedford Township.

A 15-year-old girl who lives in the home told police that two black men with bandannas covering their faces burst through the front door and ordered her to the ground, where they held her at gunpoint.

The girl told police that the men, who were both armed with handguns, ransacked the home, stealing several items including her purse. The suspects eventually fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Police responded to the home with a K-9 unit, which tracked the suspects for a short distance before losing the scent.

The girl was uninjured.

Both suspects are described as black males in their early 20s. The first suspect was about 6' tall with a thin build and short braided hair. The other suspect was slightly shorter, 5' 10" tall, also with a thin build.

Anyone with information on the incident or the suspects is urged to contact police at 734-240-7530.
