Yzerman Will Play In Alumni Game Vs. Avalanche
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) -- Hockey fans hoping to see the once-heated Red Wings-Avalanche rivalry restored may soon get their wish.
Kirk Maltby confirmed to 97.1 The Ticket that former Detroit captain Steve Yzerman will suit up during the alumni game at Coors Field on Feb. 26 as a part of the NHL's Stadium Series festivities.
Reports have indicated that Darren McCarty -- who played for the Red Wings from 1993 until 2004 and again from 2007 to 2009 -- will also take part in the game. Rosters announced earlier in January did not include Yzerman or McCarty.
