Detroit Tax Prep Business Targeted In Apparent Firebombing
DETROIT (WWJ) - A tax preparation business on Detroit's east side was damaged by a suspicious fire that might have been intentionally set, according to officials.
The fire took off early Tuesday morning at a tax business located at the end of a strip mall along Gratiot Avenue at Townsend, between East Warren and Van Dyke.
Fire chief Kenneth Sunisloe said crews quickly got to work extinguishing the flames.
"Once we arrived, it was contained to the roof," Sunisloe told WWJ's Mike Campbell. "No civilians in the building. Everybody's accounted for. No problems with the hydrants. Everything went as smooth as possible."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but reports say it appears the blaze was ignited by a Molotov cocktail.
