Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan To Give Second State Of City Address

DETROIT (AP) - Mayor Mike Duggan's office has announced the date for Detroit's annual State of the City Address.

The speech will be held Feb. 23 at Second Ebenezer Church on the city's east side.

Duggan's speaking points were not revealed, but last year he told residents that fixing Detroit's beleaguered neighborhoods were at the top of his list.

His administration has demolished more than 6,000 of an estimated 40,000 vacant houses. The city also has continued an ambitious program rehabbing and auctioning off others owned by the city.

Duggan has been mayor since the start of 2014.
