Charges Expected In Deadly Roommate Stabbing

MACOMB TWP. (WWJ) - Charges are expected to be filed Tuesday against a 26-year-old man accused of stabbing his roommate to death.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the incident happened around 1:07 a.m. Sunday the Northport apartment complex, along Hall Road and Garfield Road in Macomb Township.

Deputies were dispatched to the complex and arrived to find 21-year-old Brian Dequan Shepard inside his apartment, suffering from an apparent stab wound. Shepard was rushed to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital where he later died.

According to police, Shepard was at the apartment with his roommate and two other people. A fight broke out between Shepard and his roommate, during which he was stabbed.

The roommate, whose name was not released, was taken into custody at the scene. He is currently being held at the Macomb County Jail.
