Application Period To Start For 22 Detroit Schools

DETROIT (AP) - The application period is approaching for parents and guardians who want their children attend certain Detroit public schools during the 2016-17 academic year.

Openings are limited at the 22 application schools, which include Academy of the Americas, Communication and Media Arts High School, Davis Aerospace High School and Detroit Collegiate Preparatory Academy.

The district says applications can be made at the individual schools beginning Wednesday and running through March 23.

Applications are open to current students, those who are starting school, and those who now attend school outside the district. Some schools may require applying students to participate in an interview, take a test or submit a portfolio of their work.

Each school maintains a waiting list.

Open enrollment for all schools will be held in April. [MORE INFORMATION]
