Woman Sexually Assaulted On Detroit's West Side [SUSPECT SKETCH]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police have released the sketch of a suspect wanted for a sexual assault in hopes that the public will recognize the man and turn him in.

Police say the assault occurred just after 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 on the city's west side.

The victim told police she was sitting in her car in the 15800 block of W. McNichols, just west of Greenfield Road, when the suspect approached her vehicle. The woman said the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, forced his way inside her car and then demanded she drive to the area of Forrer and Verne just a few blocks away. Once they arrived in the location, the man allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and stole her purse before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion, 24- to 25-years-old with a medium build, dark brown eyes, a thin mustache and a tapered low-cut afro hairstyle. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black sweater, black pants and a black Gucci belt.
