Empty Bowls Detroit: Celebrity Designed Bowls Up For Auction To Benefit Cass Community Social Services

DETROIT (WWJ) - Metro Detroiters are invited to Eastern Market Friday night to celebrate fellowship and fun as part of the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser.

The event takes place Friday, March 4 at Shed #5 from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. and will feature live entertainment, celebrity soup servers and offerings of soup, bread, cheese, dessert, beer and wine from an array of metro Detroit restaurants.

Tickets can be purchased for a $30 donation at bit.ly/EmptyBowlsDetroit or a $40 donation at the door. Empty Bowls Detroit is a 21 and over event. Proceeds will go toward Cass Community Social Services and their mission of fighting poverty and creating opportunity for Detroit's most at-risk citizens.

Every guest will take home a ceramic bowl as a reminder that someone's bowl is always empty. A special selection of hand-painted bowls by artistic local volunteers will also be available for purchase.

The Empty Bowls Detroit auction offers guests an opportunity to view custom-painted bowls created by famous celebrities including: Kristen Bell, Tim Allen, Uncle Kracker and GM President & CEO Mary Barra. Bidding on this year's auction is exclusively online [Click here to bid]. The auction, which is now live, closes on Saturday, March 12th at Cass Community's Annual Dinner.
