Police: Man Killed In 3-Car Crash After Running Red Light
BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities say a man was killed after running a red light and crashing into two different vehicles in Bloomfield Township.
The accident happened around 4 p.m. Thursday at Pontiac Drive and Orchard Lake Road.
Police say the man was driving a 2010 Dodge Ram southbound on Pontiac Drive when he failed to stop for a red light and crashed into a 2002 Buick Le Sabre, which was traveling Westbound on Orchard Lake through the green light. The pick-up truck also struck a 2013 GMC Acadia, which was traveling eastbound on Orchard Lake, before coming to a rest in a nearby parking lot.
The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His name has not yet been released.
Both of the other drivers received minor injuries in the crash and were treated at the scene.
Police say alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
