Death Of Woman Found In Submerged Car Likely An Accident

ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ/AP) - Police in St. Clair Shores say the death of a young woman whose body was found inside a car that was floating in a canal is being investigated as an accident.

A Honda Civic was pulled from a canal Wednesday near the marina behind the Shore Club condominiums, a private gated community at 9 Mile Road and Jefferson Avenue. Acadia Cadotte, 22, was found dead inside.

Lt. Joe Heythaler said the car was in the water for days. Family members said Cadotte hadn't been seen since last Thursday.

According to police, the car apparently struck an electrical box near empty boat wells. An autopsy and toxicology tests have been ordered.
