Bathroom Fire Prompts Evacuation At Anchor Bay High School

CLAY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A small fire at a Macomb County high school led to an evacuation on Monday.

Clay Township police said the fire, which started in a bathroom at Anchor Bay High School off County Line Road, forced school officials to move staff and students into the schoolyard.

WXYZ-TV spoke with the district's superintendent who said there were school buses running in the parking lot so kids could stay warm.

The fire was out before noon. No one was hurt and very little damage was reported.

There was no immediate word as to what caused the fire.
