District Court Judge Throws Hat Into Ring For Michigan Supreme Court

DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) - A local judge with 20-years experience behind the bench has announced his candidacy for the Michigan Supreme Court.

District Court Judge Mark Plawecki made it official outside of the Dearborn Heights courthouse where he serves.

"I never thought six months ago that I would be standing here, honestly, but the Lord surprises us daily," said Plawecki.

He says the arena of "politics and law" has reached a crisis point -- and he empathizes with those citizens who feel disenfranchised.

"I don't blame them, they have every right to be angry and frustrated, and I hope to help turn things around, if elected."

Judge Plawecki will be running for the Supreme Court seat vacated by justice Mary Beth Kelly.
