Michigan Woman Dies In Crash Into Water-Filled Ditch Along Slick Road

ARBELA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 46-year-old woman has died after the vehicle she was riding in rolled over into a water-filled ditch along a slick Michigan road.

The crash was Sunday afternoon as wintry weather that included snow and sleet moved through the state.

The Tuscola County sheriff's department says the crash happened along an icy, slushy road in Arbela Township, about 65 miles northwest of Detroit. Two people were trapped inside the vehicle.

The sheriff's department says Rosanna Brockman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rescuers freed her husband, William Brockman. He was taken to a hospital, where officials say he remained in critical condition Monday afternoon.

The couple is from the Genesee County community of Mount Morris.

This story has been corrected to show the age of the victim was 46, not 56 as originally released by authorities.
