Detroit Mentioned As Possible City For MLS Expansion

Soccer in the city of Detroit has been a hot topic for fans. The average American sports fan in my opinion really doesn't care about the sport that drives Europe crazy.

But one country's football, is another country's football.

Don Garber, the commissioner of Major League Soccer apparently thinks the gritty city of Detroit would be a great landing spot. Sunny Sacramento is set to get a MLS team in 2020 and while having their "MLS Block Party" Garber made some interesting comments.

Jeff Carlisle, who is the soccer columnist for ESPN tweeted the following: "Garber mentioned Detroit, St. Louis, San Diego, San Antonio, and Austin as possible #MLS expansion markets in addition to Sacramento."

Currently Detroit is home to the Detroit City Football Club, which has played in front of a crowd of 1,840. You would have to imagine Detroit would need a stadium that could house in the tens of thousands.

If Detroit is indeed a landing spot for an MLS team, would you attend the games or better yet do you think the team would survive?
