Stranger Danger: Man Asks Macomb County Boy To Get In Van

WASHINGTON TWP. (WWJ) - Macomb County authorities are investigating a case of stranger danger outside a Washington Township apartment complex.

The mother of an 11-year-old boy told police that an unknown man in a mini van approached her son on his way to the bus stop at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, near their home on Van Dyke just north of 27 Mile Road.

The man asked the boy to get in, the mother reported, and when the child turned around to go back to his apartment, the van followed. That's when the boy started running, and the man in the van drove away.

The vehicle was described as a newer blue mini van with dark tinted windows.

The child was unable to give a description of the man, except to say that he spoke with "clear English."

Anyone who witnessed this incident, may be able to identify the suspect, or who has any information that could help investigators is asked to call the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at 586-307-9412.
