Snoop Dogg Plans Return To Flint For Water Crisis Hoops Benefit

FLINT (WWJ) - Snoop Dogg is returning to Flint to lend a hand amid the city's water crisis. The musician plans to team up with former Michigan State University and pro basketball star Morris Peterson for a "Hoop 4 Water" celebrity basketball game.

According to a post on Snoop's Instagram account, they're hoping to hold the game Saturday, May 21, at the Dort Federal Event Center.

Details are still being worked out.

The Instagram post comes on the two-year anniversary of the decision to switch Flint residents from Detroit's water system to the Flint River and another day of legislative committee hearings related to the water crisis and outbreak of deadly Legionnaires' disease which killed 12 in Flint.
