Firefighter Injured Battling Blaze On Detroit's West Side
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit firefighter has been taken to the hospital after he was hurt while battling a blaze on the city's west side.
The fire took off early Wednesday morning at a four-family flat at Monterey Street and Dexter Avenue, south of the Davison Freeway.
Officials tell WWJ the firefighter was on a staircase when it collapsed. The man was walking around afterward and was seemingly okay, but the chief insisted he go to the hospital as a precaution.
No other injuries were reported.
A cause of the fire remains under investigation.
