Smash And Grab Nets Numerous Guns For Thieves During Overnight Break-In

FRENCHTOWN TWP., Mich. (WWJ) – Michigan State Police are investigating after 10 handguns were stolen during a break-in at a gun store in Monroe County. It happened Sunday morning at Shooter’s Edge on Monroe Street in Frenchtown Township.

MSP First Lt. Tony Cuevas says they believe the suspects used rocks to break through the front store window.

“Our concern is basically, not only is there a concern about firearms, but also just a break-in at the store – we want to make sure we solve this for the property owners and make sure those weapons don’t fall into the wrong hands,” said Cuevas.

Stolen from the store: A Beretta 86 Cheetah 9mm, Taurus PT24 9mm, Remington RM380, Smith & Wesson M&P 22, Ruger SR22, ISSC M22, Ruger 22/45 Lite, Glock G17Gen4, Smith & Wesson M&P .22, Smith & Wesson Victory .22.

The ATF is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information on the break-in is asked to call police.
