Just about every entertainment and sports website across the country talked about the fact Justin Verlander and Kate Upton are engaged. Kudos to them, we hope those two crazy kids live happily ever after.

Tuesday night, Verlander toed the mound for his first start since the engagement was announced.

Verlander didn't put up his best outing. He pitched 5 innings giving up 8 hits and 7 earned runs while walking 3 and only striking out 2.

The Cleveland Indians Twitter account decided to pile on Verlander a little bit with one simple tweet. "Congrats to Tigers starter Justin Verlander, who's now engaged. No word on if his manager asked to see the ring ..."

It was actually a pretty clever tweet. The last time the Tigers faced the Indians, manager Brad Ausmus asked the umpire to check out the ring Bryan Shaw was wearing, presumably because of a suspicion it was scuffing the ball.

It was ruled that Shaw could continue to wear the ring.

Following the game, the usually quiet Verlander had a few interesting things to say. He went on Twitter to tell the fans that he will soon "dominate" once again.

He also put some of the blame to his poor pitching performance on the long-sleeved shirt he changed into. "I'll never change into long sleeves ever again during a game," said Verlander.
