Police Arrest Man Accused Of Operating Chop Shop Out Of His Detroit Home
DETROIT (WWJ) - A 36-year-old man is under arrest and accused of operating a chop shop out of his brick bungalow on Rutherford Street in Detroit. Sgt. Jonathon Parnell says police discovered three stolen vehicles, cut up, in the yard.
"We have doors, we have beds to pick-up trucks, we have a whole car that's literally cut up in various pieces, and then behind the garage we have a vehicle that had been cut up at some point and those parts are here behind the garage," Parnell told WWJ's Sandra McNeill.
Parnell says he believes the operation has been going on for a while. In addition to the stolen vehicle charges, Parnell says it's also illegal to repair vehicles at a residential home.
