Police Looking For Help Finding Man Who Shot Woman Over Cell Phone

The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating and identifying an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a non-fatal shooting that occurred on the city's west side.

It happened at about 9:50 p.m. April 17, 2016, in the 4000 block of West Warren.

Police said a man approached the 20-year-old female victim from behind and said "Give me that phone."

As the victim gave her phone to the suspect, he fired a shot, striking her in the body.

The suspect escaped in an awaiting gray Toyota Camry with tinted windows; the victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury. .

The suspect is described as a black male, dark complexion, with a five-o-clock shadow, wearing a navy blue baseball cap with an old English "D" on the front, navy blue T-shirt, and blue jeans.
