Gerald R. Ford Museum Will Reopen In Grand Rapids In June
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - The Grand Rapids museum that tells the story of Gerald R. Ford will reopen on June 7.
The museum dedicated to the former president has been closed since last fall for a major renovation, including construction of the 8,000-square-foot DeVos Learning Center.
Ford was a congressman from Grand Rapids before becoming vice president and then president following the resignation of Richard Nixon in 1974. He died in 2006.
Ford's family and some members of his administration will attend a gala on June 6, the day before the reopening. Tickets for the event at a nearby hotel will be sold to the public.
