Tigers Return Home For Three-Game Series Against Texas May 6-8 At Comerica Park

DETROIT – The Tigers return to Comerica Park on Friday, May 6 as the Tigers take on the Texas Rangers for three games. Friday's game against the Rangers is scheduled for 7:10 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday's games are scheduled for 1:10 p.m.

Friday, May 6 vs. Texas Rangers at 7:10 p.m. Gates Open at 5:30 p.m.
·        The first 10,000 fans will receive a Tigers BP Jersey Tote Bag presented by MLB Network.
·        The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by John Hernandez, representing LaSalle General Contractors and Bryan Grant, representing Pepsi.
·        The national anthem will be performed by vocalist Nick Sheehan.

  •    Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Raffle: The Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Charity Raffle continues at Comerica Park this season at all Friday and Saturday home games. The partner charity for this weekend's 50/50 raffle is the Karmanos Cancer Institute, an organization whose mission is to prevent, detect early, treat, and eventually eradicate cancer. Tickets will be sold on a digital platform and are three for $5, 10 for $10 and 40 for $20. The winner will be announced on the Comerica Park scoreboard before the end of the game. The 50/50 Charity Raffle program has raised more than $1.1 million for charity.
    Vote Early, Vote Often and #VoteTigers: Voting has started for Major League Baseball's All-Star Game held at Petco Park in San Diego. MLB's All-Star balloting program is the largest of its kind in professional sports and again will be conducted exclusively online. Fans around the world can cast their votes for position starters up to five times in any 24-hour period and a total of 35 times by visiting tigers.com/vote. Voting is open now through June 30 and fans are encouraged to vote early and often. Fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Tigers players at the All-Star voting table on the main concourse during all home games within the voting period. Fans who visit the table and vote will have the chance to be entered to win a variety of prizes.

Saturday, May 7 vs. Texas Rangers at 1:10 p.m. Gates Open at 11:00 a.m.
·        On-Field Clinic presented by T-Mobile: The Tigers will host a baseball fundamentals clinic focusing on hitting, pitching, fielding and defense on-field from 11:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Each station will feature a Tigers coach and player that will speak on each of the fundamentals, rotating throughout the four stations on the field. No additional or special ticket is required to attend this event.
·        2006 American League Champions Anniversary Series: Throughout the 2016 season, the Tigers will recognize the 10-year anniversary of the 2006 American League Championship Team. Players involved in this season-long celebration will participate in a pregame fan Q&A session, and throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The 2006 AL Champion Tiger to be recognized this Saturday is catcher Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez. Rodriguez will participate in a Q&A session from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Big Cat Court hosted by CBS Radio's Dan Leach. "Pudge" will be available to the media on Friday at 6:45 p.m. in the pressbox.
·        Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez Autograph Signing: In conjunction with the 2006 American League Champions Anniversary Series, Rodriguez will also be signing autographs ($100), starting at 9:00 a.m. in The D Shop this Saturday. A ticket is required for admission to the autograph signing and are available at tigers.com/autographs or at The D Shop the day of the event.
·        Chevy Youth Baseball Ceremony: Prior to Saturday's game, Chevy Youth Baseball will present Saline Area Youth Baseball and Softball with a check as part of Chevy Youth Baseball's sponsorship of local Detroit area youth baseball and softball leagues during 2016.
·        Consumers Energy Ceremony: Prior to Saturday's game, Habitat For Humanity will be presented with a donation match check, presented by Consumers Energy.
·        The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by 2006 American League Champion Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez
·        The national anthem will be performed by a trio from Woodside Bible Church in Troy, MI.
·        Verlander's Victory for Veterans: This season, for each Saturday home game, Justin Verlander hosts Veterans from Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the state of Michigan. These         Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from         the comfort of Verlander's personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. Veterans from the         Detroit Veterans Affairs Medical Center will share 18 luxury suite tickets and parking passes in the Tigers Parking Garage. Food and beverage is provided for the guests courtesy of                 Verlander. Veterans receive a personalized welcome letter from Verlander, a Verlander's Victory for Veterans t-shirt and a Wins for Warriors baseball cap.
Sunday, May 8 vs. Texas Rangers at 1:10 p.m. Gates Open at 11:30 a.m.
·        Pink Out the Park: The Tigers, in partnership with Delta Air Lines will host the fifth annual "Pink Out The Park," to honor breast cancer survivors and support breast health awareness. As part of the event, 500 breast cancer survivors will take the field around the infield horn prior to Sunday's game for a special pregame ceremony. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the ballpark as part of the Pink Out the Park initiative. At the end of the fifth inning, all fans and survivors of breast cancer will be asked to stand and waive Pink Out the Park placards in memoriam or to honor breast cancer survivors and raising breast health awareness. Placards will be available at all gates and party plazas in Comerica Park. Additionally, pink bats autographed by Tigers players Ian Kinsler, J.D. Martinez, Jose Iglesias and Nick Castellanos will be available for purchase at the Tigers Authentics kiosk located behind section 134 and select pink and breast cancer awareness merchandise will be available for sale in The D Shop with a portion of the proceeds from Authentics and merchandise benefitting breast cancer research.
·        A special ticket package is available and includes a donation to support breast cancer research at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, a game ticket and a 2016 limited edition Pink Out the Park t-shirt. To learn more and purchase the ticket package, visit tigers.com/pinkout.
·        The first 10,000 women will receive a Detroit Tigers Pink Out the Park Visor, presented by Delta Air Lines.
·        Mother's Day: The Detroit Tigers, in partnership with Kroger will host a Mother's Day celebration at Comerica Park. Prior to Sunday's game 500 moms will be invited to surround the field as part of the Tigers Mother's Day celebration at Comerica Park.
·        All Kids 14-and-under will receive a copy of "Mighty Miggy," presented by Michigan State Police, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
·        The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Penny Russell, the Tigers Honorary Bat Girl. Penny was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2015. She was nominated by her close friend who admired her perseverance and positive attitude. The Honorary Bat Girl program was introduced in 2009 to raise additional awareness and support for the annual "Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer" initiative celebrated on Mother's Day.
·        The national anthem and God Bless America will be performed by the Delta Air Lines Chorale.
·        All Sunday home games are Chevy Youth Baseball Sunday Kids Days at Comerica Park. All kids 14-and-under will receive a free promotional item as part of the "Every Kid, Every Sunday" giveaway guarantee, enjoy free rides courtesy of Kroger on the Comerica Bank Carousel or the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel, take part in free face painting, Tigers Party Patrol will be at the Big Cat Court, kids will have the chance to win a Chevy Silverado Power wheels (two giveaways each Sunday) and are invited down to the field for Kids Run the Bases courtesy of Aquafina following the game, weather permitting.
