Fugitive Wanted In Pontiac Slaying Arrested In Kentucky

PONTIAC (WWJ) - An ex-convict who police believe killed his girlfriend in her Oakland County apartment has been arrested after several weeks on the run.

Federal authorities on Wednesday found 33-year-old Kevin Wiley in Radcliff, Kentucky after local police got a tip and alerted the U.S. Marshals Service.

Wiley — a parolee dubbed "Michigan's Most Wanted" —  is the primary suspect in the murder of 30-year-old Marie Colburn in April.

Colburn's body was found stuffed in the closet of her Pontiac home, in the 100-block of Ridgemont, by her mother who got worried when she hadn't heard from her daughter in a few days. An autopsy found the 30-year-old had been suffocated.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said Wiley was on parole for manslaughter and home invasion in a separate case and had defied court ordered by removing his ankle tether and dumping it in Detroit.  A first-degree murder warrant was authorized last month.

Wiley remains lodged into the Hardin County Detention Center in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

He was awaiting extradition back to Michigan Thursday morning.
