Police Arrest Suspected Drunk Driver At Scene Of Fatal Accident
DETROIT (WWJ) - One person is dead after a head-on crash on Detroit's east side. A car and a pick-up collided at Chalmers and Mayfield.
The intersection was closed for several hours. A 26-year old woman died after being rushed to the hospital.
A 31-year old man suspected of drunk driving was arrested at the scene. Police say he crossed into oncoming traffic.
Police have not identified either the victim or the driver who was arrested.
People in the area say the neighborhood is known for its share of crashes.
