MONROE (WWJ) - A man authorities had sought as a "potential witness" to the disappearance and death of a 22-year old Monroe County woman has come forward.

Officials with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office say they are continuing to actively investigate the murder of Chelsea Bruck, last seen alive at a massive Halloween party at a rural property on Post Road in Frenchtown Township early in the morning of Oct. 26, 2014.

Bruck's remains were discovered, several months later, on April 24, 2015, in a wooded lot on Briar Hill Road in Ash Township.

Since that time, the sheriff's office says detectives have spoken with a large number of people who attended the party, and they have been following up on tips.

On Tuesday, the sheriff's office said they were looking to talk to a specific person seen in photos taken at the party — a man they called a "potential witness" in the case.

Detectives said the man was known to have spent time under the tent near the front of the stage where the bands played while at the party.

A short time after the photos were released, the man in the photos came forward.

"The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the media and citizens for their quick response," officials said, in a statement.

The unnamed  potential witness looks similar to a sketch released to the media a ways back, portraying a man who was seen walking from the party with Bruck toward where cars were parked at around 3 a.m. the morning Bruck was last seen alive. It's not clear if this is the same man.

Anyone who knows what happened to Bruck is urged to call the Crime Stoppers of Michigan anonymous tip line at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. A cash reward of up to $30,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
