3 Men Rob 13-Year-Old Boy Of Shoes, Phone At Gunpoint During Pickup Basketball Game
PONTIAC (WWJ) -- A basketball game in Oakland County turned into an armed robbery on Sunday.
Police say the incident took place on the 70 block of Karen Ct. at around 4 p.m. Sunday. A 13-year-old boy said he was playing alone across the street from his home when three unknown black men approached and started playing basketball with him.
The boy said one of the men pulled out a handgun and demanded his phone and shoes. The boy turned over the items before the three men left in a green Saturn sedan with a broken out rear passenger window.
Anyone with information on the car or suspects -- described as being approximately 18-20 years old -- is asked to call the Sheriff's Tip Line at 888-TURN-1-IN or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
There is a $1,000 cash reward.
