Autopsy Scheduled For 1-Year-Old Pontiac Girl Found Dead

PONTIAC (WWJ) - An autopsy is being conducted on a 1-year-old girl who was found dead in Pontiac.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office reports that the little girl was not conscious or breathing when deputies arrived at the home in the 70 block of Ridgemont Street at 11 a.m. on Monday.

The baby's mother said she'd put the child in her crib the night before; and, the next morning, became concerned that it was too long for her to still be asleep. Finding the child unresponsive, the mom called 911, and tried to perform CPR.

Sheriff's officials say the Oakland County Medical Examiner took possession of the girl's remains and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine a cause of death.

No names have been released as an investigation continues.
