Police Seek Tips In Case Of Woman Found Dead, Nude Near Detroit Park

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police say a woman whose unclothed body was found near an east side park suffered "extensive trauma."

Police on Wednesday released two photos of the victim, identified as 29-year-old Kayla Kristine Yaroch, as they search for the person or persons responsible for her death.

A passerby called 911 shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday to report a body found near the curb of the roadway on Malcolm Street

between Hern and Olga streets, near I-94 and Chandler Park.

It's unknown how long she was there before she was found, but police Capt. Mark Bliss told WDIV-TV that it appears Yarich was hit or dragged by a vehicle.

An autopsy by the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office found she died of multiple injuries to both her head and body.

As other circumstances surrounding the case remain unclear, investigators are hoping someone from the public can help.

If anyone saw Yaroch in the area, knows where she was prior to her death, what her destination was, or if someone witnesses a vehicle strike her while she was walking, they are asked to call the Detroit Police Homicide Division at 313-596-2260 or 313-596-1616.

Citizens can remain anonymous, as always, by leaving a tip via the DPD Connect app or contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
