2 New Cybersecurity Training Centers Planned In Southeast Michigan

PINCKNEY, Mich. (AP) - Plans call for opening two new cybersecurity training centers in southeastern Michigan.

The Ann Arbor News and the Livingston Daily Press & Argus of Howell report the Michigan Cyber Range hubs are being set up by Pinckney Community High School and Wayne State University. They're expected to be open this fall, joining several other sites.

The new hubs will offer the opportunity to complete certification courses in cybersecurity disciplines, such as computer forensics and network security.

Rick Todd, superintendent of Pinckney Community Schools, says in a statement that the plans "will expand our current technology and cybersecurity education program by providing realistic, hands-on cybersecurity training."

The Cyber Range is operated by Ann Arbor-based nonprofit Merit Network and offers a secure environment for cybersecurity education, training and testing.
