LIVONIA (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway in Livonia after an argument turned into a shooting on Thursday.

Livonia police say an 18-year-old man was shot inside a home on Richfield St. near Newburgh and Five Mile Rd. after getting in an argument with his 18-year-old girlfriend.

Preliminary investigation indicates there was an argument between the victim and his girlfriend, Ann Zarras, regarding their ongoing relationship.

The man was transported to an area hospital with a single gunshot wound to the head, where he is listed in critical condition.

Zarras was arrested and arraigned on assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and felony firearm charges.

A preliminary examination has been scheduled for July 14 at the 16th District Court. The investigation is ongoing.
