The Snack Attack: Limited-Edition Blueberry Pie Oreos Are Perfect For Summer [TASTE TEST]

It's that time once again to bust out your fat pants and get your Oreo on!

On this edition of Oreos du jour, we're attacking the new blueberry pie flavor. It's a followup to the wildly popular Strawberry Shortcake Oreos the company debuted in the spring, and the addictively delicious Fruity Crisp Oreos that came out last month.

Sold exclusively at Target, this Oreo features a generous helping of blueberry pie flavored crème sandwiched between two graham cookies. These Oreos are only available for a short amount of time, though, so get them while you can!

Review: Blueberry Pie Oreos

Appearance: These cookies are clearly double stuffed, but the unnatural periwinkle color is off-putting. The package comes with 21 cookies but it isn't resealable, so I can only assume that you're supposed to eat them all at once.

Aroma: WOW these smell delicious! It's not so much of a pie aroma, but more of vanilla and graham. And it doesn't smell a thing like blueberry, either.

Taste: Let's start with the cookie wafer itself. The graham is so delicious, I could probably eat an entire package of just the wafers. It's not necessarily a flavor that I associate with pie, though -- maybe a cobbler. But it is yummy nonetheless. On to the crème, there's no mistake here -- it definitely tastes like blueberries. The flavor doesn't seem completely artificial, but it doesn't taste like you're eating a handful of berries either.

Put the two together and voila! Does it taste like an actual blueberry pie? Ehhh, I'm going to say no. But does it taste like a delicious blueberry tart or cobbler? Yes, that's definitely more on the mark.

Pros: These flavors really work well together, whether they actually taste like pie or not.

Cons: They are very sweet, the color of the creme is kind of disgusting (it's just not natural!) and the aftertaste lingers for quite a while.

Rating: 6 out of 10 -- Yes, these are better than the Strawberry Shortcake Oreos, but they can't hold a candle to the Fruity Crisp Oreos.
