Justin Verlander Boning Up On Relaxation Skills During Break

He's taken a beating so far this season, but Justin Verlander wants his Detroit Tigers fans to know he's taking his rest and relaxation seriously during the All Star break.

He demonstrated this with a couple of Instagram posts Monday afternoon that showed him apparently without a care in the world.

He packaged the two photos together, possibly to let us all know he's doing OK.

These are the questions that immediately occurred to us.

  1. Where did he get a bed that hangs from ceiling? Asking for a friend.
  2. Why the fedora? (Does he moonlight as a 1930s news reporter?)
  3. Where is he where he has a wooden wall in the background? (Swedish spa? Gonna get hot underneath that fedora.)
  4. Why is his shirt unbuttoned? (Burt Reynolds called, he wants his 1970s look back.)
  5. Who is taking the rakishly unbuttoned shirt picture? (We're guessing it wasn't Kate. She has more sense than this.)

Also, astute observers couldn't help but notice he appeared to be very, ahem, happy during the bed swinging photo. He's boning up on his game even on break, showing other teams the stiff competition they'll face. He's pitching something, but it's not a baseball. Some would say he's rocking the pitcher's mound.

Oh, we joke. There's just some unfortunate bunching going on. But seriously, are those shorts or would they be more aptly called hot pants?
