Small Business Workshop Will Focus On Helping Detroit Entrepreneurs

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit is becoming a hot spot for small business interests and a new workshop is designed to help owners.

President and CEO of the Lee Group, Mark Lee, wants to see small business owners make the most of what's available through the Internet and social media and is offering a free workshop for Detroit area businesses that is promising to offer help in this area.

"Detroit is hot right now," says Lee, "it started two or three years ago - a major, $100 million investment ... and you find a lot of organizations coming to Detroit because people want to be a part of Detroit's revitalization."

The free workshop called Detroit Webwise will focus on several key issues to help the small business owner and those looking to start one -- get on the pathway to success.

"How do you develop that online strategy to help support your business?" asks Lee."This workshop is for everybody. The initial thought is 'I may have been in business a while - I do have a website and this will be a good refresher.'"

Lee, host of WXYT 1270's "Small Talk" will be the moderator and one of the guest speakers.

The workshop is free and runs 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13 at the International Banquet & Concert Center on Brush Ave. in Detroit.
