Woman Dies After Being Struck By SUV While Crossing 15 Mile Road
STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Authorities say a 30-year-old Sterling Heights woman has died after she was hit by an SUV while trying to cross a road.
Police say the woman was crossing 15 Mile Road, west of Ryan Road, just before 11 p.m. Wednesday when she was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The woman was taken to Troy Beaumont Hospital where she later died.
The driver of the SUV, a 32-year-old Madison Heights resident, stopped at the scene and was interviewed by police.
Investigators say alcohol and drugs are not factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
