Small Southern Michigan Lake Searched For Missing Swimmer
CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Officials were searching a small southern Michigan lake for the body of a woman who jumped into the water while boating with friends.
Hillsdale County Sheriff Stan Burchardt tells the Hillsdale Daily News and the Jackson Citizen Patriot that the Baw Beese Lake shoreline in Cambria Township has been searched and that divers Thursday were in the water.
Burchardt says the woman jumped into the lake Wednesday night for a swim and that her friends called 911 when they realized something was wrong.
Rescue crews searched the water until about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Cambria Township is southwest of Detroit.
