Officials: Group Of Teens Responsible For Warren Home Invasions

WARREN (WWJ) - Police have arrested a group of teenagers who allegedly broke into several homes in Warren and made off with some valuable items.

At least four teens have been taken into custody in connection with numerous home invasions and motor vehicle burglaries in the area of Nummer and Toepfer, near 8 Mile and Schoenherr roads.

Mayor Jim Fouts said the suspects were nabbed during an undercover investigation.

"I had received several calls from residents in that area who were very concerned that their neighborhood was being targeted by thieves and dangerous people," Fouts wrote on Facebook. "As a result of my request with (Police Commissioner) Jere Green, we were able to successfully target that area and bring to justice some really bad people."

The teens apparently stole dozens of items including electronics, computers, jewelry and tools.

"Crime does NOT pay in Warren," said Fouts. "Now the residents in this neighborhood feel safe and are happy to be in Warren."

An investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending.
