St. Clair Shores Aims To Deter 'Pokemon Go' Players At Park

ST. CLAIR SHORES (AP) -- The St. Clair Shores City Council have implemented new security measures in a park that displeased residents say has become a popular spot for "Pokemon Go" players.

The Detroit Free Press reports that last week, the City Council decided to erect a snow fence, increase police presence and ticket players when necessary. The security measures are particularly ramped up at night, when many people are out playing the smartphone game.

Residents say some of the players have bled over from the public space into the private ones, trespassing property as they search for Pokemon, which appear on people's smartphones as they play the popular new game in certain locations.

The council also decided to put up more signage that list the park's rules and hours.
